Artist statement…

I got started making pots about 26 years ago. I make mostly wheel thrown functional high-fired stoneware and porcelain pots. They are woodfired, salt glazed and gas fired.
I make individual pots and try to make them interesting.

I attended Ohio University and took 3 quarters of clay and art classes from 1980 to 1981. I became an apprentice of Studio S Pottery in Murfreesboro, TN from 1981 to 1983. Then I moved to Watkinsville, GA and worked for Happy Valley Pottery from 1984 to 1985. I have been a studio potter ever since.
