Purchase of Arts Services Grants
The City of Macon invests Purchase of Arts Services (PAS) funds each year to “serve all citizens of Macon-Bibb County by presenting and supporting a wide range of artistic and cultural programs and activities, thus ensuring a high aesthetic and cultural quality of life.” This investment helps maintain the arts infrastructure and grow the $18.13 million nonprofit arts and culture industry in Bibb County.
Macon Arts administers PAS funding on behalf of the City, to nonprofit arts and cultural organizations for arts programs that serve Macon. The City of Macon has charged Macon Arts to provide leadership to cultivate cultural and aesthetic excellence, celebrate creativity and diversity, create educational opportunities and encourage economic growth and tourism.
The deadline to submit grant applications for arts projects in Fiscal Year 2010 that occur between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010 was August 3, 2009. The committee will meet with applicants August 21, 2009, and we will post the names of grantee organizations within 14 days of that meeting.
Please check back on this site in May 2010 for information about Fiscal Year 11 grants.
Eligible grant applicants must be incorporated in Georgia as not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization within Macon-Bibb County. PAS Grants fund arts programs that serve our community in order to:
